World-class athletes and ski industry titans confirmed to attend

CRESTED BUTTE, CO (August 21, 2017) – Every September, skiers around the world anxiously await the latest round of ski films. On September 14th, Matchstick Productions will satisfy the demand with their latest release, DROP EVERYTHING. The four-minute theatrical trailer for the film, released in July, promises a whole new level of entertainment that features heart-pounding ski action with a healthy injection of humor; in only four minutes, the award winning production team managed to poke fun at the sport of skiing, the stars of the film, the ski movie genre as a whole, and yes, even at themselves.

“I want to put entertainment at the forefront,” says writer / director Scott Gaffney. “I want people walking away from our ski movie smiling, laughing, and feeling like they can’t wait to click into their skis again.” In the trailer, Gaffney and the team boldly claim that the movie features “2190% MORE” of everything – from louder sound effects to ripping women (the female cast has increased, in fact, from one woman to two).

One of those women, Elyse Saugstad, just completed her first season filming with Matchstick. “Being a part of the MSP crew this year was remarkable for several reasons,” says Elyse. “One, I got to film with my best pal, Cody Townsend, wherein our ‘special’ relationship is under the spotlight. Two, we filmed part of our segment around Tahoe which hasn’t had a good winter in five years. Three, all the other athletes and cinematographers that I worked with were talented and fun to be around, and I think the movie will capture that good ol’ feeling of having fun in the mountains with your buddies. Needless to say, I can’t wait to see the world premiere in Denver!”

Denver’s home of live entertainment and film since 1930, the beautiful art deco Paramount Theatre hosts over 100 performances a year including live music, comedy, kids theatre, and film. The Paramount’s doors will open to the public at 6:30pm on September 14th and the world premiere of DROP EVERYTHING will begin at 8:00pm. Tickets for the show are available now at AltitudeTickets.com and additional details about the event can be found at SkiMovie.com. With lots of great prizes, an energetic atmosphere, drink specials, and many of the stars of the film confirmed for a meet-and-greet with fans, the Denver premiere will be a fun and exciting experience for everyone in attendance.

DROP EVERYTHING is presented by Under Armour with support from Avery Brewing Company, Freeskier Magazine, Squaw Valley-Alpine Meadows, Volkl, Phunkshun, Blizzard, Douchebags, Black Crows, and Selkrik-Tangiers Heliskiing. Following the premiere on September 14th, Matchstick’s crew will set out on a global film tour. Tickets are on sale now for shows in Denver, Park City, Seattle, Boulder, San Francisco, and many other locations.
